At Sandoval, we were tasked with creating a Valentine's Day-themed card generator landing page promoting the third iteration of the John Wick franchise, starring Keanu Reeves and Halle Berry. It took heaps of research (pretty much, watching the entire series of movies in a day after work), pushing headlines out of our brains at light-speed (the timeline was about a 2 week turnaround), putting together dozens of concepts (so in reality, more than a few dozens), familiarizing ourselves with the world of The Continental and it's terminology (seriously, the arms dealer completes transactions in fine-dining terminology), and gawking over John Wick's general badassery (while crying over the loss of his loyal companion). If you’re going to write copy for the Baba Yaga himself, you’d better do your homework.

The final product was a darkly charming interactive experience that let fans send “killer” Valentine’s cards inspired by the John Wick universe. The project turned out to be a wild success with people sharing their creations across all of their social channels. Just to put it into perspective, that's a whopping 2.7 million people following on Facebook alone, nearly 600k on Instagram, 300k on Twitter, and an outpouring of love from the 89k dedicated followers on the r/JohnWick subreddit.

People sent a lot of love. Keanu makes being excommunicado look not so bad.
